Celtic Pride Back in Boston?

Danny Ainge made some serious moves this past off-season that should make the Celtics matter in Boston, again. Can the new big 3 (Pierce, Garnett, and Allen) bring back the glory days of championships that the old big 3 (Bird, McHale, Parrish) were able to do? Those are some very big shoes to fill, but last time I checked Garnett has some big f'n feet. Only time will tell if this team will be able to bring championships back to Boston, but one thing is for sure, Boston is competitive again and a threat in the East.

Paul Pierce is the heart and soul of this team and is finally surrounded with the proper talent, not counting the overweight, horrendous three-point shooting, wiggle-man Antoine Walker, for him to shine. Pierce is going to have a lot of great opportunities shooting outside with the protection he's going to get from having K.G. and Ray Allen on the team now. If teams decide to double K.G. Pierce and Allen are going to light up the scoreboard this season.

Ray Allen, 26.4 ppg, is going to be an important factor in this new big green offensive machine. He's deadly from the 3pt range and he, like Pierce, is going to benefit greatly from this trade as he will be left in single coverage for the most part.

Kevin Garnett, the big man Boston has been waiting for, is getting ready to bring his guns, and I'm not referring to the way Sebastian Telfair packed the heat, but more along the lines of the way K.G. dominates the court. During the 2006-2007 season he averaged 22.4 points, 1.7 blocks, and 12.8 rebounds per game.... yeah he can dominate games.

The question is though can these 3 all stars come together and play as a cohesive unit? Is any of the three going to be OK with not being the lone all star on their team? Let's not forget about role players on this team. Championships are not won solely on your all stars. Players coming off the bench, who the Celts seem to lack at this point, usually play an important role in any teams quest for glory.

I believe this team is going to be a team that has something to prove this year. They won't win the whole thing this year but once they have this trial year under their belt they're going to dominate the east for years to come. I do believe that Celtic pride is back in Boston!
