Supreme Ruler (The player formerly known as Alex Rodriguez) and his agent Scott Boras, who is the current Supreme Ruler, reported on SI.com during Game 4 of the 2007 World Series that A-Rod will opt out of his current contract with the New York Yankees. (It should also be noted that A-Rod was not actually in Game 4 of the 2007 World Series or the The World Series in general for that matter.)
A-Rod added: "The Yankees are not showing me the respect I deserve. I AM MR. APRIL GOD DAMMIT! Now show me the money... show me the money! I heard that they were thinking about offering me a contract worth $230 million over 8 years and honestly, I had to think about it, but once I found out that they tried to hide my bonus of a pink Prada bag in the incentives section for performing in October I called the negotiations off. No respect for Mr. April."
A-Rod is looking for a deal that will make him wealthier than 124 different countries. With inflation, HGH, and other factors, A-Rod will probably play until he is 85 years old and rake in a total net profit of 500 Gazillion Dollars, or more money than I currently have.
A-Rod also added: “I want to make at least as much as my agent.” Boras was unable to be reached regarding these comments.
A-Rod now has the inconvenience of deciding which team will have to worship him during the regular season. Will it be the Cubs, the Angels, the Dodgers, or the Red Sox?
Theo Epstien, General Manager for the Red Sox, added: "We will be seriously considering the possibility of brining A-Rod to this team next year. We need someone who can come through in October, be able to handle a market like Boston, play solid D at third base, and bring a strong leadership presence into the clubhouse."
Immediately after Theo was asked about his thoughts on signing Mike Lowell, the World Series MVP.
"I think we can get something done but he'll have to consider a hometown discount if that's going to happen with our payroll."
That's all for A-Rod for the time being but I'm sure he'll be announcing his new contract during the 3rd quarter of the Super Bowl.
